A friend of mine started playing WoW a couple months ago, playing a NE Hunter named Anevay for about a month before giving up. During that time she came across a very annoying LvL 11 NE Hunter named Shadowofsun...

Shadowofsun started out asking a few simple, and harmless questions about his hunter quest. Fine, no problems here. Soon those few questions about the hunter quest turned into 45 minutes of constant questions about the game. Knowing very little about the game, Anevay could barely answer anything, but was too polite to tell Shadowofsun to "Fuck Off". At this point me and my other friend Jared were playing Halo 2 while Anevay was being harrassed by the n00b, and we started to take interest....

The plan? Ruin Shadowofsun's playing experience.

Why? Because we're mean. And I think the pre-req for me joining Eternals said something about being an ass to everyone. No problems there...

I quickly logged on my Warlock ALT Scene on my computer. Shadowofsun had been asking about a Weapon's trainer. Anevay sent the group invite to Scene a 'helpful' friend of her's.


I quickly assembled 2 more people to help 'summon a friend' to Booty Bay.

Upon arrival, I took Shadowofsun to the Innkeeper to set his hearthstone to BB 'You will need it in a min'. There would be no hearthing back to that pretty Night Elf place anytime soon.




I quickly confirmed that the n00b underst00d what I told him to do...



I broke out the big guns to help escort him to the PvP Arena in STV, keeping a LVL 11 alive from the entrance of BB to the Arena is a whore...



Almost inside...and a little lie about the level of the mobs outside...Oh, what DooM awaits you my young friend...



Oops...



BETRAYED!!





Even after the rank 9 shadow bolt ate his face, he didn't understand I had killed him. He rez'd right on top of his body, and typed out his confusion, right before my Death Coil said hello.



A LVL 11 with no Hearth to anywhere, in the middle of STV? Yeah, you DON'T know where you are, do you?



Beg my pretty, beg...



At this point, he still thinks I'm taking him to the weapons trainer...How stupid do you really have to be? After the first time I died, I would have called it quits...



I swear, the weapon's master is RIGHT HERE....oh, oh no you're dead again...





I agree to 'help' him get home by opening a 'portal' back to Darnassus...Oh wait, i'm not a Mage! My mistake...







At this point, I simply abbandon him. Having no hearth stone, and being in the middle a of a 35-40 zone, he was pretty screwed. Not only that, he had never completed his Hunter quest, so he still had a LONG run back to Darnassus even if he could fine his way...

The lesson here? Never, EVER trust anyone with my guild tag, don't ask continous questions for the better part of an hour, and find a new game to play, cause you may be smart enough to zerg to 60 on your hunter, but you're not going to get anywhere after that.

In the zone STV there is a PvP arena were Alliance can attack Alliance/ Horde can attack horde. I brought him to the Arena with the promise of showing him a weapon trainer to teach 2H swords. As soon as he entered the Arena I could kill him, and did :)

Exactly...a few questions about a hunter quest is fine, but asking about every aspect of the game, the meaning of atk pwr, ac, and everything else under the sun is just rude...

I dont see why people approve of this.

A simple 'no go away /ignore' would suffice.

Its immature of you to have done that and basically makes you look like a complete cock. Everyone was new at some points, some are naturally good, some arent, that doesnt give you the right to be a complete mong about it.

If that was our server, youd be on permanent KOS by the horde, and you 'wouldnt' get away ever. Theres lamers, and theres complete cruel bastards.

Why did I do it?

The same reason I one time ninja’d a Magister’s Robes from the only Mage in our UBRS group. After a long run of him pulling agro, wiping the group, and sheeping targets already being attacked I decided he didn’t deserve the loot. We live in a society today were people that are blatantly stupid simply aren’t allowed to fail because it wouldn’t be “Fair”.

I don’t think stupidity should be rewarded, ever. Simply existing as a worthless lump of humanity in this world doesn’t entitle you to ANYTHING imo. Not even loot, or in this case the ability to play in a MMORPG.

I firmly believe the worthless dregs of society should be exploited by anyone smarter than them. Why? Cause if your dumb enough to fall for their schemes, well then its Darwinism my friend.

And no, I wouldn’t be “camped” and “not allowed to get away”. Even if I was KOS, where exactly am I going to be where groups of horde are going to camp me? It’s kinda hard to camp me inside BWL/AQ/ZG/Insert instance here. (My main is a 60 Priest, Epic tier2 geared, so good luck camping me with the legions of suck that are the horde).

What server DO you play on? I would be more than happy to own your face.

Dumb/noobs arent just found in rookies to games... such is also found in those whom are dumb/noobs to simplest basic courtesy like yourself omfghax.

It would have saved a lot of wasted time and typing for yourself and many to do as deathgaze mentioned in ignoring or a brief explanation to the one you chose to maliciously manipulate. But you think yourself the big man in doing nasty to some one whom put trust in you. The reality is that you have quite the petty existence like many whom get their rocks off in doing such.

Justify all you want. What you did was mean and spiteful. World of Warcraft is a complex game - if you have never played an MMORPG before, WoW can be quite overwhelming. Asking annoying questions/nub questions is not a sign of stupidity (necessarily), and your treatment of him is unacceptable. To some degree his trust in you was definitely as naive as one can get, but that still doesn't warrant your behavior. You would go on my guild's blacklist if you did that crap on our server and I was a witness to it.

That said, there's some humor to what you did - I'd be lying if I said there wasn't. Using the arena in STV was quite the touch.


On a purely theoretical note...
If he does figure out, he should be able to corpse run back to BB, right? In that zone it'll take him a good number of running, dying, rezzing, running a bit further, dying, rezzing.. And then if he doesn't have proper flight points, he could take the boat to Ratchet to get to Kalimdor. Though probably all that's gonna get him is a bunch more corpse running back since he probably doesn't even have decent flight points on Kalimdor.

If I were to make a guess, IF he makes it back to Booty Bay, he's gonna find others who he will now pester until he figures out what went wrong and how to fix it. Perhaps someone will open a portal to Darnassus for him for real.

As an update, he actually somehow found his way back to Darnassus. He was logged on the other day, and has reached the happy level of 54.

The lesson? people are assholes. sure, it's funny as hell on the surface. as a noob I was often continuously bugged by idiots. even in my guild we had some dumb shits. but more often than not they were 12-year-old kids, who despite being annoying as fuck, don't really deserve to be abandoned and massacred like that. teaching someone a lesson they don't even understand is a waste of your time even if its funny. because (a) they have no clue what happened and are going to keep doing it to other people (i'm guessing that's how he lvld) and (b) it doesn't solve the problem of the all the other dumbshits out there.

You just make a new chat window and drag it out, no mods required ^^ As long as you don't add any channels to it, it filters out everything except guild chat and tells.

There's being a stary eyed Newbie, then there's being a total idiot! At lvl 11, I knew to ask a guard for directions and not random people, it's common sense and you're even SHOWN to ask them in the tutorial popups! Plus if someone kills you once, run away, dont ask why!

Still a bit mean though..:p
